The Black Cultural Centre for N.S. is a living, growing repository for culture, we welcome your feedback and urge you to contact us for information on how to submit images, stories and artifacts to our collection. We are located on the corner of Cherry Brook Road and Main Street, just outside of Dartmouth, N.S. We are easily accessible by car or public transit. See map below.

As well as providing an excellent cultural and educational experience for school or group tours, the centre has wonderful facilities you can rent for your next presentation or meeting.

The Society for the Protection and Preservation of Black Culture in Nova Scotia (better known as the Black Cultural Society of Nova Scotia) was incorporated as a charitable organization as an act of provincial legislation in 1977. The Society has provincial Board of Directors, made up of representatives from various Black communities throughout Nova Scotia. The Centre is funded in part by the Government of Nova Scotia.
